Kathleen always wanted to be a painter. She studied at Sarasota's Ringling School of Art and in New York's Art Students League. In 1989, she started painting on tile and, in 1990, was included in the Country Floors collection of American artists. Her tilework is in homes across North America (including Drew Barrymore, Carly Simon, Liam Neison, and Rosie O'Donnell), in Disneyworld's Epcot Center, and in other places around the world.

When Bill was a young boy, his father came home with a firescreen made by Daniel Boone, III. This kindled an interest in ironwork which lay dormant until that spark was fanned into a flame when he attended Penland Craft School in the early 1990s. He came home with 2 sculptures, a love for hot iron, and a plan to quit his day job. Now Bill's ironwork appears in and around the finest homes and businesses in the southeast.
